McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center Unitil Room

May 17th, 11 am

Comets and meteors might look like tiny space rocks, but they’ve got some seriously cool stories to tell. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll uncover the secrets of these icy, rocky wanderers—where they come from, why they sometimes light up the sky, and what they can teach us about the early days of our solar system. You'll even get to touch real space rocks, watch a comet nucleus come to life, and make your very own comet craft to take home. Space is calling—are you ready to explore?

Recommended for ages 9 -14 but all ages are welcome to join

Run time: 60 - 75 minutes

Cost: $5 for members, $15 for non-members

General Admission to the Discovery Center is included; capacity is limited, and registration is required.

All materials needed for the program will be provided.

I’ve always been into things like exploring and science on the frontiers. I had pictures of space up in my room way back in middle school, right next to the boy band posters!
