Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are crucial to the Discovery Center's success! Thanks to the efforts of our extraordinary volunteers, the Discovery Center is able to provide quality programs and events that benefit our many visitors.
Requirements
Must be at least 16 years old. Minors must have parent/guardian consent
Must be able to provide transportation to and from the Discovery Center
Must consent to a background check being performed
Perks
Volunteers who work more than 40 hours quarterly will be given an Individual Membership to the Discovery Center
Volunteers who work more than 60 hours quarterly will be given a 2-person Membership to the Discovery Center
We can also sign off on any community service hours
Available Volunteer Positions
Exhibit Docent
Interact with visitors by providing detailed information on exhibits, educational topics, and our organization. Additionally, docents lead demonstrations and provide out guests with a personalized experience based on their own STEM interests.
School Group Educator
If you are interested in air and space science and like working with children, then this is the position for you! Host demonstrations and discovery experiences with the many school groups who visit the center each day. Engaging the minds of our young visitors is truly rewarding!
Outreach Opportunities
Represent the Discovery Center out in the community! We are often invited to participate in local events or booked to host educational activities off-site. We’re always looking for help to connect with the public whenever possible!
Daytime Cleaning
Our facility and exhibits are used daily so regular cleaning and sanitizing is imperative to keeping our guests safe and the exhibits looking and operating their best.
Grounds Maintenance
No matter the season, the outdoor spaces around our building need a lot of attention!
If you are interested in gardening, landscaping, or shoveling then this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!
Content Creator
In this day and age, our online presence is more important than ever. We’re looking for volunteers to take photos and create content for our social media accounts.
