McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center- Special Event

Saturday, December 13th, 2025- 9 AM - 1 PM

Join us for a Science Bonanza—a day packed with hands-on STEM adventures, interactive exhibits, and discovery-based learning! Designed for curious young minds and their families, this event invites children ages 5–12 to explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math through exciting workshops and activities led by educators from the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center and 4-H.

Our youngest participants will explore science activities geared to their level. Cloverbuds (ages 5-7) will experience all sessions in a pre-assigned group and will move to each session with their group. Adults are required to stay with their participants ages 5-7.

Cost:

Workshops for the Juniors (ages 8-12) are arranged in tracks on a first-registered, first-confirmed basis. Some workshops have a limited number of participants.

Throughout the day, participants will rotate through engaging, themed sessions featuring space exploration, engineering challenges, and creative problem-solving—plus a special planetarium experience that brings the cosmos to life. The event concludes with an interactive Science Expo in the Discovery Center atrium, complete with a scavenger hunt, observatory activity, and a raffle for a free Family Membership to the Discovery Center!

Cost: $15 per youth for the day and includes admission to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, all programs and a snack, with a max $30 for families.  One parent per family receives admission.  Scholarships are available upon request to Megan Glenn (megan.glenn@unh.edu). Credit Card payment is recommended but if paying by cash/check payment must be received by Dec 1st to hold your reservation.
