A Legacy That Soars

Please join us as we dedicate our stunning new Digital Theater Wall that will transform our space with live-streamed high-definition content, real-time celestial images, and brilliant photos captured by our state-of-the-art Celestron telescope cameras

This high-tech addition is named in honor of Major James “Jack” G. Greenleaf Adams, USAF, a New Hampshire born pioneer in aviation and visionary leader, whose remarkable life story connects the earliest days of flight to the dawn of space exploration.

The nephew of famed first female Professional Astronomer Maria Mitchell, Jack Adams' legacy is etched in aviation history—from flying with the Lafayette Flying Corps in WWI to overseeing operations at Floyd Bennett Field, where legends like Orville Wright, Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, and Neil Armstrong personally signed the iconic photo that hung in his office. That autographed photograph, now digitized and displayed in the new theater, will be unveiled as a tribute to his extraordinary life.
